Appeals and Special Considerations
Appeals:
The Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC) provides an appeal mechanism for Australasian Veterinary Examination (AVE) applicants and candidates to request a review of decisions regarding eligibility or performance assessment. Appeals must be submitted within 28 days of notification of the assessment outcome or examination result, using a prescribed form and accompanied by a fee. Candidates are encouraged to engage in post-examination feedback before lodging an appeal.
Special Consideration:
Candidates can apply for special consideration due to circumstances like illness, injury, misadventure, or essential commitments that affect exam performance or the ability to sit for an exam. Applications must be submitted within 10 days after the examination or before a scheduled examination, using the prescribed form and paying the applicable fee. Special consideration allows for re-sitting the exam section(s) but does not change unsatisfactory results.
